Crews battled a house fire in a Greenwood neighborhood Thursday afternoon. Police warned at 4:15 p.m. that the fire on Grand Oak Drive was spreading.
Authorities say a man was robbed by five men while he was selling narcotics in Boyle Park on Monday at approximately 12:45 p.m. The man assaulted, 25-year-old Timothy Hampton of Little Rock, told police he had walked to his home after being robbed.
Police and firefighters are at Northwest Medical Center working a hazmat incident, according to the Springdale Police Department. Lieutenant Jeff Taylor, spokesperson for the police department said not a lot of details may be released at this time, but they're working to find out the cause.
A man who said he thinks he shot his wife three times and his daughter four, has been sentenced to die by lethal injection. A jury found Eric Allen Reid, 57, of Hot Springs guilty of two counts of capital murder for shooting and killing his wife and daughter, according to court documents. It took the jury of seven men and five women less than an hour to make the decision.

Police say a woman is the victim in an overnight homicide. The Little Rock Police Department says it is investigating the death of Tartinisha Rainey, 34. The murder scene is in the 2600 block of Izard Street.
A bail bondsman and detention officer are behind bars after trying to help an inmate escape from the Faulkner County Detention Center. According to the Faulkner County sheriff's office, 25-year-old Glenn Toney had been held at the jail since April on a variety of charges. He was being held on a $100,000 bond, as well as a charge with no bond.
A federal jury has acquitted two Oklahoma men accused in a smash-and-grab robbery at a Little Rock jewelry store. Darris Denton and Quinshod Shaw were among seven people charged in a 2016 robbery at a shopping mall in west Little Rock. An adult and child have been sent to the hospital after a fire at an apartment. Fire crews say they received a call Wednesday morning, saying there was an apartment on fire at 4324 Union Avenue, and there was possibly a child still inside.
Members of local non-profit organization,The Next Step Homeless Services are building two transitional homes to help keep families who are homeless together while they work to get back on their feet. A 21-year-old man died after losing control of his pickup on a wet Arkansas road, police said. It happened as Luis A. Gallardo of Mexico was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche north on Walker Road in Siloam Springs, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
