Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller said shortly after 8 pm on Clay County 911 received a call regarding a possible shooting that occurred on LaSalle Street in Rector, Ar. Officers discovered a deceased male inside the residence. The victim was identified as Jeffery Baker, 40, of Rector, Ar.

Several residents have reported they’re being scammed, according to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office. The residents told authorities that a man claiming to be Sgt. Mike Hardin with the sheriff’s office is calling and falsely informing them they have warrants out for their arrest because of failing to appear for jury duty, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities say the bodies of two newborn babies who appear to be twins have been found in a suitcase along a road in northeast Arkansas. The Cross County sheriff’s office says the bodies were discovered Friday afternoon in a purple suitcase, which was on a ditch bank along a county road.

According to a Benton County Sheriff's Office press release, Sergeant Xiong conducted a traffic stop around 12:30 p.m. for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Flores, pointed a firearm at the sergeant before fleeing in his vehicle. Flores fled into a field before getting out and fleeing on foot.
