Fort Smith Police Department put eight officers on administrative leave following an officer-involved shooting, according to our content partner KFSM. The news station says the officers on leave included three officers who fired their weapons and five officers who were witnesses to the shooting.
Multiple People Shot at Arkansas Apartment Complex, Police Say
Four people have been shot and one has died in a Thursday morning incident. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says a suspect is in custody.
Little Rock police said a man died Wednesday after he was struck by a vehicle during a fight last week. Justin Duft, 19, had been hospitalized in critical condition since Dec. 26, when he was run over in a fight with Nathan Schneider in the 1300 block of Chenal Parkway, according to police.
Fort Smith police shot a man who tried to run over officers as he was fleeing arrest Wednesday night, the department reported. Police said in a news release about 9 p.m. that officers had approached Matthew Pittman, 19, at a convenience store at 1200 Grand Avenue to serve a felony arrest warrant. Pittman reportedly realized the officers were there to arrest him and he tried to flee in his vehicle. Police said officers fired at Pittman after he tried to run over them.
Arkansas State Police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Ozark that took place Tuesday night, authorities say. The incident took place around 10:20 p.m. at 1004 W. School St.

A Little Rock CVS Pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday, police said. A 21-year-old employee told officers that the robber entered the store at 1122 S. University Ave. about 3:30 a.m. wearing a black hoodie, according to a Little Rock police report. The cashier said he asked the man to remove his hoodie, and he did.
A 62-year-old man remains in the hospital after police say he was shot and robbed at his home off of John Barrow Road early Wednesday morning. But Little Rock Police Department says the particular incident is unusual, because most robberies don't involve shootings.

A small child is dead after a house explosion in Logan County. It happened in Paris on South Elm around 5 a.m. Thursday. Logan County Sheriff Boyd Hicks says the child could be 2-years-old. There was a man and other children inside the home, but all were able to get out safely. He says that man was arrested for having outstanding warrants.
Pine Bluff Police are looking for two drivers they said were involved in a deadly hit-and-run. Authorities identified Frederick Rice, 58, as the man killed. Wednesday, police released a photo of a white car they said is one of two cars that never stopped after hitting Rice. Ricky Duley said he had known Rice for 5 years. He spent some of Wednesday night looking over some recent cell phone videos.

Arkansas State Police has released the name of the man killed in a head-on crash on Monday night. Kevin G. Taylor, Sr., 61, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas was pronounced dead at the scene by Hempstead County Deputy Coroner Eddie McKinnon, according to the Preliminary Fatal Crash Summary on ASP's website.
